Hi, I'm Ashley!
Interior designer, old-house enthusiast, professional over-thinker of tile, and mom to two adorable little humans.
I've loved design for as long as I can remember. I was that little girl who was constantly rearranging things, dreaming up rooms, and noticing every little detail in a house. Honestly, I've never really considered doing anything else.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Interior Design from California State University, Fresno, and over the years I've had plenty of hands-on experience remodeling our own homes and helping friends and family transform theirs. So while I absolutely love a beautiful room, I also know that renovations involve a whole lot more than picking pretty things. There are budgets, measurements, contractors, deliveries, timelines, unexpected surprises... and the occasional surprise hiding behind a wall that makes everyone stop and say, “Okay... now what?”
And I kind of love all of it.
A little more about me...
I'm a wife, a mom, and a very happy resident of Northern California.
My husband and I love spending time with our two kids, wandering around downtown Grass Valley and Nevada City, paddle boarding, finding good food, and generally enjoying all the things that make small-town life so special.
And now that my kids are bigger and life has given me the space to finally take the leap, I'm building the career I've always dreamed about.
Ashley Shaffer Designs is my little corner of the design world — and I couldn't be happier to finally be doing this.
My goal is simple: to create homes that are beautiful, functional, personal, and actually livable.
Homes that feel a little bit fancy, a lot a bit cozy, and completely you.
And hopefully, we can have some fun while we're doing it. ♡
